Thing is, his rankings will be among those taken into consideration by the committee. For reference mostly, but they will be on the table.

The selection committee does........
sagarin ratings are always valuable because they are the actual computerized stastics considering all of everything from strength of schedule to scores and shutouts and literally everything.... this is the most accurate of the ratings to date on any given team.proud2breb wrote:And we should take this guy seriously?

I hate Florida State as much as the next guy, but they certainly deserve to be in the top 5. It's hard to take a poll serious that excludes them for 2 one loss teams.

Sagrin ratings are not a poll, it is a computer analysis with the primary purpose of determining probability of a win.proud2breb wrote:I hate Florida State as much as the next guy, but they certainly deserve to be in the top 5. His rankings have been used to determine participants in the NCAA Men's BB tourney since 1984 and the BCS since it started in 1998. So yes, you should.

Correct. But his power ratings are pretty much dead on. Great for point spread info on betting too.JustBlues wrote:Sagrin ratings are not a poll, it is a computer analysis with the primary purpose of determining probability of a win.proud2breb wrote:I hate Florida State as much as the next guy, but they certainly deserve to be in the top 5.
