MSU kicked this teams ASS on the sane turf! Is MSU that much more talented, or better coached?

So you're saying we didn't want it as bad as MSU? Explain?

No, lsu came out flat in that game. No one knew how good Msu was and they showed up. This game had a lot more emotion from the get go. Nothing like knocking off #3 in Death Valley especially when it's arguably your biggest rival. Plenty of reasons....it's a game of momentum and emotions.

Also this LSU team is growing up. Them, bama and maybe awbarn still have more talent than we do. In LSU ' case, it's just young. But they are improving. We beat a bama team that probably has more talent than anyone in the country. This program is better off than it's been in over 50 years
This loss just hurts a whole lot. Hopefully we'll bounch back next week

I agree. We got beat by a very good football team tonight and have nothing to hang our heads about. It was a good game but it is tough going into other teams stadiums and coming out with a win. Alabama and LSU have really turned things around recently and right now are playing as good as any team in the nation. Did anybody really think we were going to go undefeated with the schedule we are playing. This is just a chance to build character and move forward. No team in the SEC is going to go undefeated. We have a really good football team at Ole Miss. The difference in the MS State game and this one is that LSU hadn't really figured out just who they were. State got ahead early and it go out of control. The same thing happened when they played Auburn. We just need to find a way to beat Auburn next week. Unless something drastic happened we will be in that one with a chance to win also.

We didn't get "beat", we got "out coached"! It's a game of Pawns and Knights!

Lsu is not a bad team. They're just young. If you've ever played football, you'll know emotion in games.

I'll tell you that the coach calls the plays and the players play the game. You can pin it any where you want but there were lots of things that ended up being the difference in losing this game. Better execution or fewer mistakes would have helped a lot but it didn't happen. We had a holding call that negated a touchdown. We got beat by a good football team that has a dominate running game. It's not like we got blown out or lost to Vanderbilt. I don't know who I would trade coaches with right now. We have a coach that has done a fantastic job in a really short time. He started from scratch two and half years ago and right now we are sitting at #7 in the nation sporting 7-1 record and we have guys criticizing and second guessing him.

So.... it's OK to criticize the QB, but not the 4 million dollar man? Nobody said fire him. But, I don't think it's too much to ask someone we're paying that much to not *beep* it up so badly.

Did you read the stat I posted? NINE times we ran the ball on first down for TWO freaking yards(2nd half). Yes, our O-line is banged up, but we've been a little better in pass protection this year than run blocking. A lot of those NINE running plays resulted in negative yards. That's what's called "playing BEHIND the chains". Bo gets all the criticism when he was put in bad situations all night by the coaching staff. He made some bad decisions and missed some throws, but pressure mounts when you play 'behind the chains'. Especially in a place like that. Bo played badly, but Freeze didn't help him out one d*** bit.

How many of our TD's vs Tenn were on deep shots taken on First down? If we ran every time, it's a much closer game. Without mixing it up on 1st down, we'll have a chance to lose all of them except Presbyterian

We should remember we are young too. There will always be games like this and you aren't going to win them all. As good as Lsu played we were still there with 9 sec to go. Nothing more than a dang good game that we didn't win. Auburn is an elimination game. He is where we see what we can do.

amen. We have a few very key veterans like Prewitt and Golson, but we are a young team. The future looks bright for Ole Miss football. We also need to remember that our head coach is young and inexperienced.
