#4 team in the Playoff at this point; #3 SOS to help them get there; meets #3 Auburn on Saturday in what will likely be an elimination game for the playoff.
We are still playing for the top spot.

putting us at number 4 means nothing more than we have done good but we gotta earn it to stay since we still have 1&3 to play. Pretty much means the same thing for Msu and auburn. Alabama has their destiny back in their own hands for all the same reasons. This also means the playoffs begin sat. It will have national interest so big TV money made off the game.
Alabama does not have their destiny completely in their hands. They could win out and they still will not go to Atlanta if we win out. I imagine that they would still be in the playoff, but they have no shot at an SEC championship if we win out. I agree completely with everything else you say. Number four is nice and we should be pleased with it, but not satisfied. If we don't maintain it, it means nothing more than a little less than a week of giddiness. I do wish to publicly announce right here and now that any time I reference rankings the rest of the year, it will be the CFP rankings as they are the only ones that matter any more. They are favorable to us right now, but even if that changes, they are my sole reference. We are the number four team in the nation. This week's game between Ole Miss and Auburn is number three versus number four. That is all that matters. Win and we can be giddy for another week. Lose and the dream is over for this year.bbqit wrote:putting us at number 4 means nothing more than we have done good but we gotta earn it to stay since we still have 1&3 to play. It does. And I don't understand the continued negativity from some of our "fans". Maybe they're not happy if they don't have something to complain about.

We REBELS have been through a lot in recent years. Now we get to bask in the glory of the rankings and wins for another couple days.
I remember the outright catastrophes of the "O" years and the collapse of Nutt. I like what we have right now a whoooooooole lot better!
Let us all get behind our REBELS this coming Saturday and cheer them on in this PLAYOFF game!!!
