No reason to be so high at 7-0 and think the world of everyone. Then go off the deep end just because of some losses. The end result is still more promising than looking back.
It's as good of a season as last year. Every team loses games, but teams with good coaches improve throughout the season. Am I really the only person here who thinks we have digressed since the Bama game?

I don't wanna make excuses and honestly, I don't think there are any worthy of the performance that we witnessed yesterday, but I still think we're quality depth at key positions away from being Championship relevant and it's reared it's ugly head each and every year under Hugh. We've started strong the last 2 seasons, only to flounder down the stretch when our 2-deep becomes a 1.25-deep. You wanna talk about how to win consistently in the gauntlet of the SEC West. Have a 3-deep of 4-5 star talent that are biting at the chomp for one of their teammates to give way to an opportunity for them to succeed. We're not there, in talent or desire.

Completely disagree with the desire, part of that statement.

We are getting there. It is not as fast as we thought, 3 weeks ago. But in Aug if you were told we would win 8 with a game to play most every fan would have taken it without hesitation.

The fact that it took us until week 12 to TOTALLY drop out of the NC talk is FAR MORE THAN ANY OF US COULD HAVE IMAGINED, especially in year 3.

You folks need to take a chill pill & wake up to reality. Less than 3 yrs ago, we were Arky w/ no SEC wins. We were still in the SEC & NC talk until yesterday.

Move on & quit crying. WE DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO ACT LIKE BAMA FANS, YET. WE HAVEN'T BEEN THERE.
I am on the golf course if the Rebels aren't on the field.

Wow, I thought I was being realistic. I didn't say we weren't on the right path or headed in the right direction. I said, we don't have the depth to execute a full season in the sec west, yet. And both talent and desire must be present to do so. Excuse me for pointing out that we came out flatter than a mammogram yesterday.

Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah

We won 8 games last year. In August I think everyone expected at least 8 wins this year! I did.

It took us only a month to fall out of playoff contention and the SEC championship contention.

Nutt had us ranked 4th in the nation and a NC contender in his second year, but we ended up in the Cotton Bowl.

We were ranked 4th in preseason and then lost and never was back. We climbed to #3 and stayed there a couple of weeks. Nutt couldn't carry Freeze jock strap.

As I said, when Freeze gives us something that Nutt didn't give us, we'll talk. He hasn't yet.

I firmly believe that a lot of this season has to do with depth. Sure QB/OLine/Coaches are all part of it. But at the same time I think this team just go worn down and beat up. It is nice to have a 1A defense and a 1B defense as well. You don't have to look to far to see teams start strong(with a weaker schedule) and then fall flat on their faces. Great teams can take time to build. This isn't Alabama and it isn't Nick Saban. This is Ole Miss and Freeze. Time has to progress for things to change. If this season really does show evidence of improvement. Then the future is high no matter what the roster looks like.

Freeze hasn't given us an empty and dead team.

Thanks, but I'm looking for something Freeze HAS given me. LOL

BTW, I saw an "empty and dead" team on the field yesterday.

I agree! So tell me who is responsible for our lack of depth? All the Freshmen, Sophmores, and Juniors were recruited by Freeze and his staff. He brought Bo and inherited most of the other seniors.

If he's such a great coach, shouldn't we get better from August to November? That's my question.

We didn't start strong with a weaker schedule. We beat the team that is currently #1 in the nation before quitting.

Top half of schedule has 2 currently ranked opponents (Bama & Boise), bottom half has 2 currently ranked opponents (Auburn & State). Going back to the top half, A&M was ranked when we beat them! And on the bottom half, LSU was ranked when they beat us. It's a wash. If anything, the first half was tougher on paper.

Arkansas took their opening possession and rammed it down our throat! I read Elston was quoted after the game saying that "we started out flat, but we always start out flat." Pretty accurate statement, and a reflection on the coaching staff.
