BTW... The $4 million you think he deserves us a little steep for a trainee salary. If he's still "learning" to coach, we should pay him accordingly.rebeljim wrote:U or I could've taken those teams to bowls with the talent they had. Get some good assistants, and we could've gone bowling. One thing O didn't do, it was leave the cupboard bare. We had talent, and nutt underachieved. And he ran Snead off. nutt left the cupboard VERY bare when he left. Freeze is doing very good. He's also making mistakes that cost us games, but he has to have time to learn as he goes. If he keeps making the same mistakes, then we have a problem. But he is getting MAJOR talent here, so let's bare with him and see what he can do. And since he's been getting this talent, something your nutt couldn't do, then I'd say he's doing something MAJOR that nutt didn't do, get BIG time talent to come here. Stay tuned for further developments. and again, 3 years is in no way enough time to develop depth, no way no how. So u can blame Freeze all u want for our lack of depth, but it's total BS.proud2breb wrote:Jim- you've got me all wrong! My comment pretty much supports your statement except the part about Nutt.
I said we played our best against Bama and that they didn't play their best against us. Obviously I don't think we would beat them every time we played them based in that statement.
Secondly, I've got zero love for Nutt! I have only pointed out he gave us bowl games and records better than anything Freeze has landed so far. Obviously I hope that changes. But he hasn't yet. Freeze recruited and developed (if you can call it "developed") most of our reserves and this the lack
of depth is on him. We recruited some pretty good athletes on paper, so some of that should start to show up on Saturdays!
