TCU runs a 4-2-5 base defense and has typically stopped the run well without going to a "heavy" package.Hagar wrote:we have tempo and have used it much more in the past but this year we slowed the game down considerably to allow for our QB Bo Wallace more time to think apparently (Bo seems to throw more interceptions going tempo). If Defenseive depth is a concern for TCU and our Running game is hampered by TCU going heavy package we will see lots more of it...if we have any success running the ball then the game will slow down... substitution relief for TCU's D will be a high premium regardless...when we send 4 wide deep every down and throw to our TE's the Corners for TCU will be give out by the 4th I imagine...all of our WR's have near Amari Cooper capabilities...but our TE's have been the most deadly for us...everyone seems to have 1 maybe 2 good corners but nobody has 4 and the time to substitute against us. Our success will be reside with Bo Wallace...if he has a good night we will win by 21 points... if not it will be close. Your offensive success will not be an issue because if we can weather the rest of the SEC west we can weather TCU as well.
Interesting, I would have thought that having multiple WRs with "near Amari Cooper capabilities" Ole Miss would have been better than 29th in the country in pass offense, but I have seen other mention on this board about some of your better receivers being out with injury. Do you expect everyone to be healthy for the game?
It seems like a lot of Alabama fans thought the same thing going into the Sugar bowl against another Big 12 team last year, but then again I think Alabama felt a little down last year going into their bowl having been so close to playing for the NC. Kind of like TCU feels about this year. If Bo tends to throw Int's when going up-tempo, then I hope Ole Miss does go up-tempo, since TCU is 3rd in the country in interceptions, and tied for second in int's returned for TDs.
