Pitching was scary, but they got it done when it counted...

But good lord, could we leave a couple more stranded please!?!?!?!

If the pitching hadn't bailed us out of some tough situations we would have been in some deep trouble tonight against a nobody team.

I guess when you're #2, EVERYBODY brings their A game to you. And it's encouraging that the team responded well when they found themselves in a fight.

Good to see Matt Smith back in the lineup though.

Let's crank up that offense and show the Sycamores who their dealing with!!!!!!

Lets go REBELS!!!!!

One word summarizes this game...FOG!!

I took some pictures and I'll upload as soon as I can. On a normal night the Rebs win going away, but the fog tore us up, especially in the 7th.

Pitchers were good. Lance got in some trouble in the 1st, but worked out and stayed in through the 7th. Bittle inherited a mess in the 7th, but worked out of it and struck out the side in the 8th. Cryer had a rough 9th.

Offense struggled a little in bringing guys around, but this ISU team is MUCH better than their stats and record indicate. They have a solid bullpen from the guys I saw tonight and their starter was good, but had the same problem Lynn did with the fog.

How the outfielders made any plays in that mess is beyond me.

Holy Smokes! That fog is wild, definitely difficult to play in that, for anyone.

Great pics, thanks.

Yeah, GREAT pics OR. We appreciate it. Definitely gives me perspective on the game.

In that mess, I can really see why the score was so close. Hard to show off great pitching, hitting and defense if you can't see the ball. Doubles and triples seemed like an afterthought!!!

Oh well, it's behind us now, let's get the chain saw fired up and do some CLEAR CUTTING!!!!!!!!

Last night was one of those games neither team deserved to lose because the conditions made it almost impossible to play at times. When Ole Miss had their big inning and scored 4 ISU really didn't have a chance to defend it. ISU started off the 7th with a double (which was a routine fly ball), a walk, and a single (another routine fly ball). That's when Bianco came out to pull Lance to put in Bittle, but before he made the mound he started talking to the umps. Then the ISU coach came over and you could tell that he obviously wanted to continue (for this half inning anyway...). But the umps decided to take a short delay.

It was so thick. Overbeck hit a homer and the grandstand crowd couldn't tell if it was gone or not until the ump indicated it was a homer. The right fielder was still looking for it as the ump called it HR. Crazy. It was a night that you had to have a great pitcher on the mound to rack up Ks for your team and fortunately Lynn did a great job with 7 or 8 Ks

i was in right field and i couldnt even see second base at times. Every time the ball was hit, all the outfielders would look at each other and kinda shrug their shoulders because they had no idea where the ball was.
Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton... Old times they are not forgotten.

Wow...those pics of the fog at the game are amazing. Never been to a game and had a fog delay. We were driving back to Holly Springs from the Rossville antique auction in the fog and all I could do most of the way home was keep my eyes focused on the shoulder of the road....didn't know exactly where I was most of the time.
