If it was emotional before, it was downright tear-jerking afterward.

His present Rebels had delivered a Gatorade shower, while many of his former Razorbacks waited off to the side. And then they, one by one and several in tears, walked up to either shake hands or embrace their former coach. He had encouraging words for every one of them, and you could tell he meant what he said.

Nutt bear-hugged little Michael Smith, the Razorback's mighty-mite running back who had almost spoiled Nutt's return with 129 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries................

The Rebel players will tell you they won because they could tell how badly their coach wanted it.

Said Snead of Nutt, "He didn't talk about it in those terms, because he didn't want to put any more pressure on us. But you could just tell."

Said McCluster: "Coach was emotional. He really wanted it, and we knew he really wanted it, so we wanted it. We'll go to battle with Coach Nutt anytime."

Its a real shame these players that were recruited by Nutt that have worked hard to play have only heard negative slop from the fans about how Nutt left with "no talent" and he was a poor recruiter.

Maybe. But Arkansas fans are right that theirs is a very un-talented team this year.

They shouldn't have even hung with us. We were bigger, faster and stronger than them.

I disagree that they (AR) are untalented. they have good SEC quality players that are in a new system that is very different from what they were asked to do in the last sysem. Our players our in a new system that isn't vastly different from what they were doing last year, so the change hasn't been as drastic.
I do agree that we were a more talented team and that we should have won going away, but our secondary (esp. the CB) are just not good enough to play prevent when there is absolutely no pressure being applied to the QB.

Uh remember, they beat #20 auburn at auburn this year with a rebuilding class, they nearly beat ole miss yesterday. Its never a cake-walk playing at arkansas, they didnt get the 22nd toughest place to play for nothing.

done

Look the Arky fans are like we were under Orgeron...so hateful about their previous coach that they will never see it even if Petrino does suck as an SEC coach, because they will even blame tornadoes on Nutt, just like we did Cut.

It will take several more years to see if Petrino sucks as an SEC coach. However, considering the improvement we've seen in our young players so far this year, and the recruiting class that he and his staff are putting together for next year, I am confident that he will emerge as a very good SEC coach.

But you are right, Nutt does get blamed for a lot of the problems we are having this year. Some of it is deserved and some of it is not.
