Nutt calls the formation the Wild Rebel. Which sure beats the heck out of Orgeron's Wild Boys.

This is an interesting development. Gaskins was probably going to serve as the primary backup point guard this season, but with this injury it really opens things up for Kennedy.

Yes, it is unfortunate that the injury happened but it also frees up playing time for plenty of capable players. Will Bogan could see more playing time now, or we could play EP at point like they did at times last year. Terrico White also played point in high school. Having a 6'5 PG in EP or TW could really make things difficult for opposing teams. It'll be interesting to see just what Kennedy does now.

From what I am hearing Bogan has a way to go to be a point guard in the SEC.

Having watched the first game, I'm pretty confident that Bogan will take most of the back up point guard. I'm very upset that Gaskins is out. He always has a GREAT attitude on and off the court, and his jump shot is clutch.
I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance.

That is what I am hearing too. He is clearly not ready to run an SEC offense. He might be able to after a year of tutelage under Chris Warren, but I do not see him being a vital part of the team, at least early on in the season.

Bogan made a couple of nice shots in the exhibition game last Friday, but his decision making abilities and defense was very inconsistent and overall poor. Kennedy was noticeably upset with Will at times due to this.

Bogans is a true freshman in the SEC who has been playing high school basketball in Idaho his entire life. There is a huge talent gap between Idaho high school basketball and SEC basketball. To expect Bogans to be ready to contribute is unfair to him. We'll see how he does Friday.

From what I understand, he is a gym rat so he should improve if he works hard. He is going to need thick skin and a come to work everyday as a pg in the SEC. It will be fun to see him progress.

FRom what I have read from David at the CL they are expecting Bogan to do the same thing Smith did last year. Which is you know 10 mins a game hit some 3's and not make mistake which is hardly a non factor

Bogan will get some spot play, probably not even 10 minutes a game. He's going to have to learn on the fly, SEC ball is not Idaho HS ball. He needs another year (or 2) in the weight room for the physical play. If he can give a starter a little break here and there and hit a 3 every now and then, great. I believe he'll be a bit of a liability on defense for the first year, though.
