Judging from this morning's (Monday) Baton Rouge Advocate, both the Tigers and the Baton Rouge press are still basking in the glory of what they are calling the greatest LSU comeback of all time in Saturday's game against Troy. It's Monday and we have two feature stories on the Troy game. The words "Ole Miss" have not been mentioned. I like this.

Big comebacks for LSU and Troy shouldn't ever be used in the same sentence. Not in a positive light anyway. Think about it. I wouldn't have many things to say positive about Ole Miss if LA monroe scored 40 on us and we had to overcome a 30+ pt. hole to win the game.

But I say let them bask in the glory of their pathetic, historic comeback all they want. Its going to be different ball game Sat.

Lead story (sports section) in Tuesday Advocate..................................LSU's victory over Troy. Ole Miss did make page three. This item concentrated mostly on Wild Rebel stuff. As a side note: According to the Advocate LSU drew about 65,000 for the Troy game and it estimated that about 25,000 were there for the start of the 2nd half. The Bama loss must have taken a lot out of the fans. These are extremely low figures for any LSU home game. Do not dispair...they'll be over Bama by the time we get to town...

Dad born and raised in Wiggins, MS. Mom born and raised in Dyer, TN. Mom and dad met at Ole Miss, married, Vietnam for dad, then back and moved to Nawlins to work for Exxon/Humble/Standard. So that means that I was born in Katrinaville in 1971. Since I could walk and talk, we went to Ole Miss for football games and Philadelphia for the Neshoba County fair as well as camps at OM for tennis with Billy Chadwick (he's been there forever). I'd rather be in Mississippi or south Louisiana than anywhere and it killed me to move over here to Houston last year and be farther away. My sister also went to OM ahead of me. So there are 5 of us that went to Ole Miss in the family now (brother-in-law).

My kids will have a choice when they are older, Univ of Texas (if we still live over here) or Ole Miss. Other than that, they can pay for their own tuition. That's the story in a nutshell.

You were and are truly blessed, except for the Houston part. As I recall, 'Ol Diz lived around Wiggins. It was Bond I think.

Thanks and correct on Dizzy Dean. I didn't know that until one time I was at Stone County Hospital and saw that he had some rooms named in his honor.

Interesting. From the 37 times Ole miss has beaten LSU, 24 of those have come in Baton Rouge.

this game will boil down to who's QB plays the best. The teams look equally strong in the trenches to me. Both QB's should be coming in with a little bit of confidence after last week. One thing to watch out for is Lsu's secondary vs the pass b/c they are all sub 4.4 guys and offer little separation, and Ole miss' secondary vs their QB. I think your D-line with Hardy will get enough pressure on Lee to see him force stuff and when he does he can't even hit 5 yard slants. Nutt took a 13 point underdog in there last year and won and I think he will again.

I never thought i would here or see wiggins, ms on MTV but it was on Rob & Big. Also, my old youth minister who was/is the principal of Stone Co HS was on there as well. that was crazy. I am from the coast and we played stone county in football.
