Eat at City Grocery in the Oxford Square, and if they have any cajun-type special, order it!

I suggest you arrive pretty early so you can walk around on the campus and see the various buildings, etc. It truly is one of the prettiest campuses you'll ever see. If you go to the Square to eat, be sure to check out some of the stores there.

You didn't indicate whether or not you've ever been on the campus so I've attached a Mapquest link that will give you an idea of the layout. Just zoom in or out as needed. The Grove "activities" are all over the campus, but the largest numbers of tents are in the area inside the Grove Loop and the Circle in front of the Lyceum building.

Have a great Time!

The Library Sports Bar and Grill if you are staying overnight. There will be a post game show from there.

Does anyone know if the LIbrary will be open on Thursday night, I know it is Thanksgiving so I figure not, but that is the only night I am actually staying in town.

Cajun food,i've been eating that for the past 13 years and it shows, lol.

I have been on Campus 15 years ago a few time, but it was only to party with friends. It was all a blur, lol (thanks for the map).My wife is a photographer so i'm sure she will love to take some pictures.

We are going to moms on Thursday eating and dropping the kids off before heading up there for the night.Would love to shop around and get some things to show off my rebel pride down here in LSU HELL.Only time i get anything with ole miss on it is off the internet or my mom.

Thanks for all the pointers and anymore that may come in.

Campus and stadium have changed a lot. Hope you and the wife have a great time and the Rebs put a spanin' on the dogs!
Nutt calls the formation the Wild Rebel. Which sure beats the heck out of Orgeron's Wild Boys.

umrebelfan-I do know that Roostrer's Blues Bar will be open, if not familiar, it is where the Hallmark Card shop used to be, diagonal from Downtown Grill.

dbrebel-for the best selection of Rebel gear, check out Rebel Rags on Jackson Avenue, near the Wal-Mart Super Center. best selection and always a lot of stuff on sell.
depending on your stay, the hard court Rebs play Sat. at 1; sure there are plenty of tix left.

you will not want to miss the players walking thru the grove....usually happens about 2hours prior to the game...so expected time this week will be around 915 -930 am.....
Even a bad day as a Rebel is better than a good day with the dawgs!!!!

Get there early, stay late, watch the team walk through the grove, watch the rebels win the game then go enjoy everything the square has to offer.

What do you do offshore? I'm in the oilfield as well.

Enjoy your trip!

I work in the oilfield service department (Hercules Liftboats). We'll be there thursday night and try to get up early to get to the grove.

Don't be afraid to introduce yourselves to folks in the Grove. As a freshman, all I had to to was say "my goodness, ma-am, that's a nice setup you've got there."

Bam. A plate full of free chicken.

"Wow! Is that a whole tray of chess squares?"

Shazzam. Free dessert.

It goes on, and on, and on. Just carry yourselves politely and don't step on any toes. You'll be just fine.
