Both Georgia (9-3) and South Carolina (7-5) lost, so it is technically possible for the Capital One to choose the hottest team (Ole Miss (8-4)) for the Capital One Bowl. My guess is that we will still go to the Cotton Bowl; but if the bowls, teams and SEC collectively prefer a different arrangement with us going to the Capital One Bowl and Georgia I guess to the Cotton Bowl, then that can be worked out according the rules.

I guess we will know on Dec. 7 unless the rumor mill tells us sooner.

The Capital One gets first choice. So I guess if they choose Georgia then it will be the Cotton Bowl.

There is no way UGA will end up in the cotton bowl, if the capital one bowl picks us then UGA will go to the Outback bowl. This is becaue the Outback bowl has first pick of teams in the East after the Capital One picks. My guess is tha the Cotton bowl will then pick either LSU, or USC.
don't question my knowledge

You are right but there are always possible back room deals. Remember the time we stayed at home sitting at 7-5 while Bama went bowling at 6-6?

Actually we were 7-4 and had beaten Bama. Bama was 6-5. The next year we go Shreveport at 6-6 and beat a 6-6 Nebraska team.

that year the bowl selection rules had not been put into effect, like the one that says that you can't take a 6-6 team over a 7-4 team (assuming tie-ins and such).
like was posted earlier, the only way UGA goes to Dallas is if Cap 1 takes us and Outback takes USC, then Cotton has the pick of every other bole-eligible SEC team, regardless of division.

supposedly despite what the rules say, Boone has been rumored to have stated that the Cotton is picking first then Outback.

he's lying. I'd love to see proof that he made such a statement.
It is true that the Cotton bowl has first pick from the WEST. But the Outback Bowl picks first, from the EAST.
Doesn't matter anyway... because....
I wanna go to Orlando!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE PICK US CAPITAL ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I would LOVE to hammer OSU (like the SEC has been doing) again!!!
