I think we could play for a national championship next year, and I am being serious.Rebchuck18 wrote:I see 10 wins in this schedule with only Bama and LSU in question in my view (because I know LSU has talent if they trip upon a QB).
I am serious about the 10.
What will our record be next year?

I think I'll wait for this season to end before I jump into next season.

Here's what I know to be fact for next season:
1. We'll be ranked in the pre-season
2. We'll have a ton of momentum
3. We'll be legit contenders to represent the west in the SEC CG
4. Defense will be improved especially if we get some recruits that can
contribute in the DB and LB positions.

Will our offensive line be as good next year? That's my only question. I know we didn't run up the middle all that well. But we had good pass protection and ran well for the most part. And 3(I think) are seniors? One being an All-American.Hagar wrote:one more prediction from me...badmotorfinger wrote:Here's what I know to be fact for next season:

could pose the same question to Bama-lose 3 if andre (AA) goes NFL, AR-lose 2, and LSU-lose 2 (Johnson is AA). even Auburn loses 2 off the O_line. State is the only team in the West to lose just 1 OL, and in their case that might be a bad thing.lewindha wrote:Will our offensive line be as good next year? That's my only question. The best teams in the west should be Bama and us but if we don't beat Bama, I don't think we win the west. The plus side is at least we have them at home this year. I just know Bama is loaded with a talented team and they are going to be right back to a National Championship contender next year.BigTrev34 wrote:We will win the SEC West next year bc we have something no one else in the conference has. A quarterback who can play. Now I dont think we will only lose one game, but I think we could be a top 10 team this year. We have the talent to compete and the QB to push us over the top. I really believe this is our year.
What Im sayiong is that talent wise we are about even with everyone else, but we have a qb that6 can win games for us now. No one else has a qb thats any good. Look at the top 4 teams in the SEC. Wilson, Snead, Stafford and Tebow. The four best teams in the SEC. Now that Wilson and Stafford(probably) are gone, Snead will be the man. He puts us over the top/ Look, I love dfense, and I know it will be impossible to replace Peria, but Im not worried bc we have Snead. If everyone else had a pretty decnt QB, Snead wouldnt realy matter, bet there is no other good QBs that can really lead their teams.
Defensive back is still a huge question mark...but with the possible exception of Alabama, I think our staff we will be able to out coach every staff on that schedule...combine that with our talent at skill positions and that is why I say at least 10.BigTrev34 wrote:maroby001 wrote:You know I say easily we go 10-2 but I don't think it's going to be that easy for us to win the west just because we have a good QB. From what I've heard, it's a guy named Star Jackson. Freshman this years, supposed to be very athletic.LCW wrote:Who's up for the QB position at Bama after JPW is gone?
Nutt calls the formation the Wild Rebel. Which sure beats the heck out of Orgeron's Wild Boys.

Ark is in the same QB position we were in last year. Highly recruited QB who played a little as a freshman and then sat out a year to transfer

Thanks. Was hoping their QB cupboard would be a little bare, but from their roster, they have at least 5 QBs on tap...think they are all freshman but one...and another commitment this year....4 star.Redbluedude wrote:From what I've heard, it's a guy named Star Jackson. We're ranked #11 in the early 2009 pre-season poll that I saw today. Not that these polls mean anything at all (UGA was #1 this year), but it's nice to get some respect. I've been called negative on this board more than once, but I have HIGH hopes for the Rebs next year. I wouldn't expect any less than 8 wins and I think we might go 11-1 with the only loss being to Bama. Only time will tell though.
