Saw it on Facebook. He said himself he will be back in 09. Hopefully he gets in shape. The kid was a stud, just had no work ethic, it seemed.

If he can get his head screwed on right then I'm all for it. If he's going to be more of the same and not go to class then forget it. Going to class isn't hard and why some of these kids can't just suck it up and do it is beyond me.

I don't want lazy people on our football team. Period.

Chris was a stud in HS, but was just another big guy in college. He was totally out of position at LB and was constantly outrun. At DE, there were flashes, but it wasn't like he played enough to give anyone a true outlook on how he would do at the position. Last spring practice (went to them all), he looked ok at DE, but was still far down the depth chart (Tillman, Lockett, Hardy, Stephens, Vaughan (now a WR!) were all ahead of him). I am not saying he can't become a solid player at the position (by all accounts has done well at the position in JUCO), but he has shown himself not to have the work ethic to consistenly improve himself. Trust me, I hope he is not a Chris Herring redux, but all signs point in that direction.

Very few of our current stars performed well under O, so this kid could be lights out under Nutt. I say give him a chance and if he earns his keep, great. If not, we haven't lost anything anyway.
