I think we can but you are completely correct. The SEC West is absolutely brutal. It's a shame that 2 or 3 of the coaches in the division right now won't be around in a couple of years (Statistically speaking). They all carry some badge of honor. The most difficult division in CFB.

you never know I guess, but so far you seem to be going in reverse or at least not progressing. Just two SEC wins last year, so far just one this year and sole possession of last place in the west. I don't see much promise there.

Degression before progression (is what I hope

). And you definitely have a right to believe that way. Can't argue with numbers. We've made tremendous strides from last season already. We not only made coaching changes, we made culture changes. It's one of those situations that it is a lot harder than most would think it would be. To be honest, I gave BP 2 free years ( gave Nutt the same btw). By the 3rd year, you should know what you've got in a HC imo.
Yes, in the end it's about wins/losses. Petrino has gone about things totally different than Houston did when he was here. Only time will tell whether or not one is more effective. Short term, yeah not a comparison. Houston had more short term benefits than Petrino. But, longterm is where I think we'll be better off . Just my opinion, not a prophet.
Regardless, the West is brutal. Mullen seems to be improving things, Nutt has OM relevant, LSU/Bama aren't going anywhere, Auburn is already better and of course I think we'll continue to make positive strides. West is definitely tough.

I disagree. I think Petrino will be able to get AR back to the SEC Championship Game during his tenure. It will not be easy due to what Saban is building in AL, but that will be the litmus test each year and we will scale that wall again. It is getting beyond that that is still an unknown.
Consistency is the mark of an excellent program and that is something that AR has never had (since the 60's at least). But if Petrino can get a consistent pipeline of high-caliber players coming to AR, then we will have just as good a chance as any SEC school to win the Conference. Does top-notch talent want to play for Petrino? We'll see, and the answer to that will seal our fate.
