He better cough up some dough to get those power hitter top ranked recruits here or our hitting will possibly be even worse next season. For example: today we had 7 hits against a mid week starter freshman pitcher. Oh by the way, 4 of them were from Matt snyder, who is a senior. The rest of the team had 3 hits against this guy.
Is Kennedy Final Four or bust? I hope so.
If he makes ANOTHER super regional next year, he's not going anywhere. A poor showing in an unhosted regional might put him in some hot water. Missing a regional all together would be disastrous for him, I think.

No. Ak is NCAA tournament or bust because he has never taken us there. If Ak had taken us to the ncaa tournament every year, the elite 8 three times, and then not taken us anywhere the past two seasons, then it would be final four or bust. That is where Bianco is. He is a victim of his own early success. He wanted the bar raised high, and he has it. Its your move Bianco, the ball is in your court. Lets see if you can step up. My money is against you.

So we do pay one of the top salaries? I didn't know that.
Well, like I said, I think Bianco gets next year. If he screws it up, then do whatever.
We're in the top three in the SEC of compensation.

That's what I don't get. He got us where we are(him and Almighty Dan, sorry). We've hit a snag, and without blinking an eye it's time to get rid of him. With Kennedy let's just keep extending him until he FINALLY makes a tourney, then raise expectations. I don't think expectations are that high to begin with.

So, where does that rank nationally? I'll look, just asking if you knew right off hand.

lewindha: I did some research for you. Paul Manieri is listed as the highest-paid SEC baseball coach at $625,000 a year with all revenues added in. Mike Bianco is listed as receiving $580,000 a year with all revenues added in. Augie Garrido, the Texas legend, is listed as being paid $600,000 a year. I would deduce that Bianco's compensation is certainly among the Top Ten nationally, if not Top Five. At any rate, he is being paid at the approximate level of coaches who have taken their teams to Omaha several times over. In Manieri's case, it's two different college programs.

My question is who does Ole Miss hire???
I ask because it has to be someone beside Dan Mcdonnell because yes he has been good, but hasn't built an amazing program.
I just don't know who would get Ole Miss to Omaha in the next two years? So my question is who is that homerun hire after we fire Mike Bianco?

I don't see comparing AK and MB. MB situation is like
double edge sword, but IMO there is just no excuse
For this team, and it will come back to MB. In football
It's always a " what have you done for me lately" type
Thing, why would it be different for MB. Come on mike
Swinging on the FIRST pitch 75% of the time and not trying
Fix this issue! As for hiring a coach, idk bout that, but the
UCLA guy is from my research a good hire, but I'm a MB
guy and would to see him stay, it's just hard to watch this
Happen

That's up there. I don't know why we couldn't pull in a great hire. It's just one of those things where I'm nervous what might happen if we pull the trigger too soon.

Where are you getting these numbers(for my future reference)? I don't claim to be a great researcher, and I did a quick google search and only came up with an article from 07.

Type in: SEC Coaches Salaries. An article should come in under SEC Coaches Salaries/eHOW.com
I got Manieri's and Bianco's salaries from that. Got Garrido's from another source but can't find it now. None of those salaries have regressed, although it's possible Ray Tanner's salary at South Carolina's has increased. I would hope so, since he's won back-to-back NC's.

You'd think.
I typed in 'college baseball head coach salaries'. Maybe too long and specific.

Bianco has 2 years left on his contract. Even if we did elect to fire him how can we can't afford to buy him out

If AK had done those things it would most certainly not be Final Four or bust. He would get a lifetime contract!
