this is why I think Freeze deserves the raise he got!

My bad.... I didn't realize Colorada state and Georgia state were such powerhouses. Not to mention Chattanooga. Do we need to look back at 2012?

And before someone says it.... I know this is not about bama. And I also don't care for playing Memphis, but they ALL schedule easy games to rest up and pad the W/L column.

I don't see Bama backing out of a Clemson series and talking about getting out of a Ga Tech series. They play Va Tech next year and Wisconsin year after that.

Hugh Freeze doesn't deserve the raise he got.

CHF is a great man. I'm a Christian as well so it's awesome to see he never changes his faith for a game...

However....

CHF hasn't won 9 games yet at Ole Miss. His play calling in the redzone is the worst I've ever seen to be honest. We just got beat by a MSU team that wasn't very good which has crushed our recruiting...

Hugh Freeze hasn't proved enough to warrant a $1 million dollar pay increase. He just hasn't.

Now if he wins 9+ next year and takes us to a New Years Day bowl then yeah but not right now.

I don't see how it's crushed our recruiting. At all. But, I agree. $1mil was too much. Maybe he'll earn it next year.

Losing to State has not hurt our recruiting. It just kept Mullen at State a little longer, and you have to believe, he'd love to get out if he could. That new addition they're building to keep up with us will just create more tickets for fan bases like LSU, 'Bama, Auburn and Ole Miss to buy for away games.

I think they had to pay Freeze to keep him. Has he made bad decisions as a coach? Yes he has. His play calling has cost Ole Miss the A&M game two years in a row and losses to State. Hell I thought his weird offensive play calls hurt against Alabama.

But he's done amazing things in recruiting and has created the most discipline program seen in a long time. You also have to remember that Freeze has not been coaching at a college level very long; and he's coaching against the best college coaches in the nation 9 games a year.

Was he worth the raise? Yes, because who is going to replace him? Nutt? Ogeron? Bring Tubby back? Even if we found another diamond in the rough; we'd have to pay that guy to keep him to.

Man, why you gotta bring up old stuff? But, to keep him? Where was he going if we didn't give him another million?

Old stuff? Ole Miss has had some *beep* coaches as recently as 3 years ago. Freeze was rumored as possible replacement for OK State and Baylor if either one jumped ship for Texas. Unfortunately I live in BIG 12 country; it could've just been local media BS. I mean the media thinks BIG 12 actually plays defense.

Yes, old stuff. This thread is 2 months old. Neither Baylor nor OK State were EVER gonna hire Freeze if their coaches left. Baylor is more realistic, but still.

First, I support Freeze and agree with the pay raise.

However, for the sake of discussion, let's assume that Bo Wallace had instead recovered that fumble against Mississippi State. Wouldn't the naysayers then all be in Freeze's corner? If so, should Freeze's career really be determined by one play? I think not.

Who said his career is defined by one play? The guy is pretty much just starting out.

My whole point was, NO ONE is coming after him. We won one more game than last year, but lost a couple we shouldn't have and one to MSU. Finished 5th in a 6 team division(behind MSU). And our recruiting ranking dropped by about 12 spot this year(I know it's all subjective, but most would agree we didn't do as well this year).

Tell me why he should've got a 1 MILLION DOLLAR raise. I'm not saying don't give him a raise. Just that 1 million was excessive and unnecessary. Gosh, we've beaten this horse to death and dug it up to do it again.
