I have some hope that the committee will make the best decisions possible because they did not promote either TCU or Baylor to the Top Four. Neither team plays defense. The Big 12 Minus Two reminds me of the old WAC. They run up and down the field and whoever has the ball last wins. Once again, the committee got it right about the strength of the SEC in all the metrics and put two teams in the Top Four.

Our path is as clear as it has ever been, but the number of steps have been shortened.

1) Beat the Hogs. Lose, and everything is academic.

2) Beat State. So important for so many reasons. State will still be in the Top Four. We need to win the Egg back. We need to be in a position to go to Atlanta if:

3)Auburn upsets 'Bama. This is not some long-shot. It could happen.

--------------------
Other desirable results to hope for over the next two weekends:

Have Mizzou win out. Even without Todd Gurley, Mizzou will be an easier team to beat than Georgia.

Have TCU, Baylor and Ohio State lose another game. If they all lose, the path will be clear for more than one SEC team in the playoffs.
-----------------

So, what if we do what we're supposed to do, and 'Bama beats Auburn? Then, at 10-2, we should be selected to go to one of the Committee Bowls, as they are now being called: Orange, Fiesta, Cotton or Peach. A chance to go 11-2 (we've never had an 11-win season), and a chance to finish in the Top Four, even though we didn't go to the playoffs. (There is also an outside chance that we could be the second SEC team selected for the playoffs even if we don't go to Atlanta. We would be the second-place team in the SEC with a win over the first-place team.)

At any rate, I see that Bjork and Freeze are working on a new deal. I'm sure Freeze is insisting on huge raises for all his coaches. Keeping a staff together is crucial these days.

I think Florida will give FSU the business... They would be a one loss team, but I think they would fall through the floor because they have no impressive wins, and play in a garbage conf.

Yeah, Florida over FSU will be Muschamp's swan song. I forgot about the Seminoles in my post. Gators could very well pull that off.
