I understand our opinions differ on this, and I'm find with that. I take offense to being called a bad fan, classless, old and overweight, jealous(?), etc., because my opinion differs from yours.
I feel I've given the University a lot of myself. Not a lot in the big picture, but to me it's A LOT and if I had more I would gladly give it. I'm not happy with the product they are producing and I feel I should be allowed to boo if I want. You're right, I'm not flying banners, requesting phone records, etc. That is what bad, classless fans do.
I stick by the "classless claim" if you are booing a player like snead who is giving it his all.
Here's what Ark fans are wrong at and a lot of other fan bases are off as well. We choose as fans to pay, give and donate. No one make's us do that. Just because we give, donate, or pay doesn't mean we are guaranteed or deserve success.
Sports are the greatest of drama's. Mainly because there's no guarantee. IMO, is there for support. It's not a empowered position. We hope, pray, wear our lucky socks and/or touch a certain rock on gameday because we want to feel a part of something. And to an extent we are. But, we don't hire/fire coaches, train/recruit players and nor do we have substantial impact as to how a game goes. We are spectators.
At the end of the day, Ryan Mallet is my qb, Bobby Petrino is my coach and my mascot can be turned into a delicious morning food at anytime. I love it! Cause I don't have control over them. I can only control my reaction.
Like I said, boo the coaches/admins if need be. But your previous post referred to the player. That's something I in particular hate to see. I have read a lot of your other posts, you seem to be a diehard Reb. Why would you want to boo a player?
As a fan, I don't believe I have entitlement. I do have a choice as to how I spend my money. I go to the games when I can knowing that every bit of my money isn't going to where I see fit. But I assume that risk and am fine with it.
No, did not like the products we had on the field in the last 20 years but I wasn't/still don't have any decision making power. And that's just how I like it:) For every person wearing the cardinal and white every sat, I applaud. They get to do something I could only dream of. If they appear as though they give a flip, focus on the task at hand and show some appreciation somewhere along the line. Not sure I could ask for more than that.
