I was talking about MSU's 7-0 start that misfired at the end. That is why I said "you dont have to look far".
But you have to start with freshman to have sophomores and so on. This team has some seniors that have been around. Then this team has some young talent that will be around. But with that talent you build depth around that. This team just isn't deep enough to account for two injuries. In some spots even one.

Losing to Lsu ark and Msu in the same year is miserable.

I didn't see a lot of desire on the field Saturday. I saw empty and dead. Sorry, that's what it looked like to me. As much as I hate to say it, proud2breb is right. You want consistent improvement and for you team to be competitive throughout the season. We're not getting that right now. We lose this Saturday and we've improved by ONE spot in the division with blowout loss to the last place team.
We all keep making fun of Mullen and State. Meanwhile, they are sitting there in Starkville doing nothing but finishing ahead of us every year. And now they might make the playoffs.
Yes, it's only the third season. But, this last half of the season has been a disaster. Someone asked if we went 1-4 in the last 5 games would it be a disappointment? I'm pretty d*** disappointed right now.

I was glad I didn't have to sit through that misery of watching the game. I was deer hunting in Indiana and didn't find out the score until 9 Saturday night.

I'm with Goroth, Eric. You saw empty & dead on the O side. The D played ALL 60 mins. Maybe the O looked that way due to the Treadwell injury? I don't know. Maybe the O is still figuring things out after his monumental loss.
Bo didn't look good. Matter of fact he looked awful. He didn't look like he had any zip on the ball all day, even before the injury. He never took a shot up top all day, maybe weather was reason for that. The 1st series looked bad on the O side, D not so much either. However, the D was put in terrible situations all day, especially the 1st Qtr, & never quit. The turning point of the game, IMO, was the "lined up in the NZ" penalty on 4th & goal that gave Arky & 5th chance & subsequently a 17-0 lead.
Our backup QB's looked bad, but lets be honest, they had little to no significant prep for this game.
We are all disappointed right now w the 1-3 finish to this point. The loss of Taz & Q have been bigger losses than I, & we, had anticipated.
My biggest disappointment of the day was the 4th Qtr when I thought CHF play calling didn't display we were going to play hard for 60 mins. When trailing & you have a full Qtr to play you don't start calling run plays, even with the backup QB. You throw screens & the like to appear as though you are trying to move the ball. I thought CHF quit a little Saturday. That was my only real problem from Sat.
On another point, don't forget Mullen is in year 6, not 3, with the same type rebuilding process.

Yes, and he's delivered 2 Gator Bowl Bids, a Music City Bowl, and a Liberty Bowl.
I view the Compass Bowl as a step behind the Liberty Bowl. We could still get to the Gator Bowl but need to win Saturday.

Last I checked my math, that would still make CHF 100% in bowl qualifying.
& let's get real here, the conference now decides where the teams play & not too many around here give 2 shiits about your "VIEW"!!

I'm not going to be a Hugh Freeze apologist, but I do give credit where credit is due.
