I will withhold judgement until we can actually win some important conference games. Two years ago we started 12-2 before conference play and then at the end everyone had us not making the tourney until we made a run in the SEC tourney. The year before that we started 11-4. The year before that we started 13-3. Sooo... we know nothing yet.
Careful Eric, u may lose your position in the AK fan club... :o

After eight years what makes anybody think things are just magically going to get better. It has been the same year after year with the exception of the miracle run in the tournament. I've said it plenty of times. In year three you should have a pretty good idea on where your program is headed. In year three your coach has had two years to work with the first class he recruited. If your program isn't on the upswing by then it probably isn't going to happen on a regular basis. Our modus operandi has been to build a good early season record playing teams most have never heard of and playing around .500 in conference. That gets OM to around twenty wins and gets the fans talking about making the tournament before accepting the NIT bid. If you will play a good non conference schedule it will accomplish two things. One, it will get your team prepared for conference play and two, it will ensure that if you have a tournament quality team you will have the wins to get in instead of just being mentioned. For some reason OM simply will not play decent teams on a regular basis in non conference play. I have watched them play once this year against TCU. I did watch a little of the Oregon game but it has gotten to the point that I don't care to watch any more. I simply can't stand to watch the style of play. Just like past teams they have the talent to be a pretty decent team. The best thing I see about this years team is that MH is gone. Some here are under the delusion he helped last year but they are better off without him and probably would have been last year especially after failing multiple drug test.
