Chucky is entitled to his opinion and he takes our shots back at him without getting bent out if shape. I disagree with him on this and other things but I believe he is a rebel.
Very cool Chuck, and very right.Rebchuck18 wrote:Chucky is entitled to his opinion and he takes our shots back at him without getting bent out if shape. I disagree with him on this and other things but I believe he is a rebel.
Chucky is a Rebel, no if's, and's or but's about it. I would say that he bleeds the Red and Blue, but, everyone does as science dictates. However...
Chucky? You there Bro?
To act as though we have been a chump in the SEC, as you have alluded too is nuts. We own a share of two National titles while being a card carrying member of the SEC, and one title outright. We have won this conference numerous times. As the Nation watches our counterparts divide and conquer their opponents, it brings the focus home. We want....no, we need that.
You want to win now? Go get a membership to the conferences that I mentioned in the prior post. This year's team would have blazed through the Big East and Conference USA with break-neck speed. And given the right division, might very well have been in the hunt for an ACC Championship. But that is just picking on the little guy. That's being a bully to the less talented.
Reminds me of this:

You cannot possibly want that. In the SEC, we will earn each and every accolade we take in. In the SEC, if you win you become the ultimate champ. You show the country that you are viable and you can do this:

I understand that you love the Rebels of Ole Miss, I do too. I never, almost ever, go outside with at least some Rebel something on my person. I understand that you want to see your team rise high too. But I hope that you can realize that what your rivals, or in your case, your conference is achieving is a lightning rod for what we can achieve. Financially, rankings, in the court of public opinion, etc.
Simply put, if we put together an 8 win season, it becomes note worthy. If we put together an achievable 10 win season, that gets us a top 10 ranking, and if just a couple of things go right, and we hit up Atlanta, that lands us in the BCS/ National title conversation.
None of that would be true if we were in a lesser conference. You have to know that, and sometimes, just sometimes, you have to root for your foe in order to beat them.
As my Coach of a Father used to say when I complained about the team that put us out won...
...you want that team to win. If have you have to lose, you want to lose to the eventual champ.
If we keep steady, and remain in the SEC, we will win. The town, the campus, the tradition, the quality of the school will decree that we belong.
(BTW I got your Niners in the SuperBowl, losing to my Manning led Denver Broncos, suck on that!
