Me too. Now, it may not turn out that way, but I'm still thinking he's outsmarted himself in hiring Lane Kiffin and that that's a disaster waiting to happen.

I just hope my expectations of Bo is correct. This is the most healthy he has been since Tulane 012. At least that is the game I'm remembering him to have gotten injured. I hope he has a lot of fun on the field this year.

I think he will if the shoulder is healed. He's tough as nails and his teammates respond to him. He made so many clutch 3rd down conversions in big games last year I believe that if healthy he could be the best QB in the league. On a side note, I saw today that Marshall at auburn got caught with pot, but did not get arrested.bbqit wrote:I just hope my expectations of Bo is correct. If we don't get to Atlanta this year I am not sure that we will be able to recruit at the level it will take to get over the hump on a consistent basis. Not saying we will get to Atlanta this year, or should...just saying that I think this year we have the best chance we have had since Eli and as good a chance as any other West team....and I think our chances may actually decrease in 2015 as we move further away from the "all planets aligned" recruiting success of 2013. We have seen Feeeze's recruiting prowess. This is the year he needs to show us that his coaching can make a difference. He needs to step his game day coaching up to his pay grade. He needs to outsmart his fellow Ark State alum and draw something up to get to a more human Saban. He's already shown he can out coach Miles and Mullen. I believe he can do it. And I believe he will. It's funny but as one of his most vocal original critics I seem to have more belief in his teams than most. I did last year...and I do this year. No more poor mouthing... No excuses. He has the players to do this.
Could not have said it better myself…
My thoughts exactly…great post.
So do EVERYONE else. Hope it works out, but facing an SEC slate like us is tough. He has the players to do this.
Can it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Maybe. We need it.
But a move to a 10 win season this year would be appreciated by me.
Look at the WC and maybe learn a lesson from it. (Germany did not destroy US.) Look at the CWS and learn a lesson from it. (Rebels were sooooo close.) It's tough, but it can be done.
BUT the SEC is TOUGH. I'm hoping, but I'm not going to decide all is ill unless something terribly wrong happens which, in your case, means not winning the West. In my case, it means playing better than we did last year and getting to at least 9 regular season wins.
Let's see how the season plays out. Rebs top it all, there will be celebration of the caliber never seen before in the South (guaranteed). God, preserve the Grove, and old oak trees and ANYTHING that our dear fans could get their hand on.
We shall see.
But it's still a tough division, whether you like it or not.

Changing a football culture is sometimes a slow process. Freeze is doing it now. What's happened to Ole Miss since Vaught retired is that we've made a number of hiring mistakes that have put us behind the eight-ball. We also waited way too long to improve our facilities. Along the way, we've had some moments with Brewer and Tuberville, even Cutcliffe and Nutt. But something's always gone wrong over the long haul to keep us in the mix consistently.
The attitude of most of our West rivals is that we won't be able to sustain success. Hey, some of them even believe we have no right to threaten them in any way, shape or form. That's BS! We have every right to aim for the top and stay there as along as we can. Schools much smaller than Ole Miss with way less impressive facilities have done it--Boise State, Cincinncati, Baylor, Northwestern, etc.
We don't have a lack of vision at Ole Miss anymore, and we should not shy away from expectations.

Nick Marshall cited for a little Mary Jane on the 11th. Gus doesnt take him to SEC Media Day.. Learned the Carl Lawson has ACL surgery, thinks he might be able to get back for the end of the year... Maybe, maybe not, but he will not be the same guy this season either way.
Not saying this is overwhelming, but found it interesting a talking head said the same as me.. Last year everything went right, he doesnt expect it to this year.
