Seems to be a good bit of small ball going on here. Singles, doubles, walks and stolen bases..... Was someone listening to the fans after these last few games???? Excellent.

Matt Smith pops up a 1-1 pitch to right field to fly out, 9 unassisted. 1 out.
Kyle Mills walks on a full count pitch. Runner on 1st.
Stuyverson singles a 2-2 pitch through the 6 hole. Runners on 1st and 2nd, only 1 out.
Basham gets a 1 RBI double to the wall on the first pitch! Stuyverson held at 3rd base and Bash at 2nd, still one out. Mills scores.
Henry singles through the 4 hold. Stuyverson scores. Bash moves to 3rd and Henry sits on 1st. Still 1 out.
Pitcher had Henry dead to rights at 1st, but didn't pause so balk called! Basham scores and Henry moves to 2nd.
Henry steals 3rd. Looking for a 1 out hit or sac to bring Henry home.
Miller walks on a 3-1 pitch and Miller goes to 1st. Runners at the corners. State's bullpen comes alive. Forrest Moore has 3 walks and a balk to this point.
Overbeck strikes out on a 2-2 pitch. That's Moore's only 2 strikeouts in the game, both to Overbeck who leads the Rebels in hitting. Two outs, runners at the corners.

MSU's Powers is really working Lynn. Several foul balls. Grounded to Stuyverson at SS, but it's booted into the outfield. Runner goes to 3rd and batter goes to 1st. Would have been a DP. Scored E6, second error on Stuyverson in back to back hitters. Runners at the corners, 1 down.

Guerrero singles up the middle. 2nd baseman could not make the play to 1st. Runner on 1st, no outs. Overbeck and Matt Smith are the only two Rebels now without a hit. 10 hits already for the Rebels!
Power gets a hit through the left side off the glove of the 3rd baseman. Guerrero moves to 2nd, Power at 1st, no outs.
Matt Smith gets a deep fly to the warning track in the gap, but caught (9 unassisted) and the runners have to retreat to 1st and 2nd. One out. Coach Rob not happy that they were not standing on the base to tag and advance on a fly that deep.

Guerrero should have tagged on Smith's fly out, he then would have scored on the next batter's fly to center. Not good base running.oxfordrebel wrote:
