Ole Miss vs. MSU - Game 2

No noise for the Rebs in the top of the 1st. Satterwhite is struggling early in the 2nd. Walked the lead off and two straight singles gives the pups a 1 run lead early. Still no outs in the 1st with runners on 1st and 2nd for MSU. He can't seem to buy an out here.

Cody settled down a little bit. Here's how he did in the first inning:

1 walk
1 wild pitch
2 singles
1 run

but also 2 strikeouts.

Could have been a killer inning, but Cody worked out of it.

After 1 complete:

When Ole Miss is trailing after the 1st inning the Rebels are 3-4. When MSU is leading after the 1st inning the dogs are 2-2.

On the other side Justin Pigott is on his game. He does have 1 HBP and has given up 1 hit, but struck out 3 after 5 batters. Got the 6th batter to ground into a double play to end the Rebel 2nd.

Mid 2nd:

When Ole Miss is trailing after the 2nd inning the Rebels are 2-3. When MSU is leading after the 2nd inning the dogs are 3-2. Ole Miss needs to score next inning.

Cody managed to get the pups to go 1-2-3 in the 2nd. After losing his first 3 batters he faced in the game Cody has managed to get the other 6 he's faced, so looks like Cody has overcome his early struggles. Way to step up.

After 2 complete:

Rebs heard me! Henry hits a 2 RBI single and Rebels take the lead!! Guerrero gets an RBI sac fly too!

State is forced to remove Pigott due to injury. He was already injured, but they had to pull him suddenly. State brings in a new pitcher. 2 out in the inning.

Mid 2nd:

State gets a homer to pull within 1. Then they get ANOTHER homer from the next hitter. Cody is struggling again. We're tied up.

After 3rd:

Couldn't bring one around in the top of the 4th but Rebels did get runners at the corners.

Mid 4th:

MSU gets a 2 out RBI single to take the lead, 4-3. Satterwhite gets the last batter on a strikeout.

After 4 complete:

Evan Button gets a bloop base hit into center with bases loaded to tie the game up. Bases still loaded with only 1 out! Sac fly takes a Rebel lead...

We'll a ground out, but the relay for the double play got away from the 1st baseman and Rebels take the lead, 5-4!! A ground out end the inning, but the Rebels did what they needed to do!

Mid 5th:

Cody got an out but then gave up a walk and a hit. But a double-play gets the Rebs out of the inning and Rebs keep the lead.

After 5 complete:

Rebs very quickly go 1-2-3.

Mid 6th:

MSU got the tying run aboard and Bianco decides to make a pitching change. Satterwhite's day is done and Scott Bittle will take over for him.

MSU gets an RBI single up the middle as Satterwhite's runner comes around and we're tied yet again.

Sac grounder scores MSU's go ahead run after the puppies manage to get bases loaded off of Bittle.

Rebs manage to get out of it, but pups get the lead back.

After 6 complete:

A hit and a walk put Rebels at 1st and 2nd. Fuller Smith gets a base hit to tie the game again! 1st and 2nd, no outs.

Pups make a pitching change with Button at the plate with a 2-2 count.

The get a strikeout and a double play to end the inning.

Mid 7th:

Rebels 6
Pups 6

Rebels have now stranded 10 on the base paths...

Bittle manages to get the mutts to go 1-2-3 in the 7th.

After 7 complete:

Walk, walk, and hit by pitch loads the bases for the Rebels with NO outs!!

Guerrero gets a hit down the line and gets a base-clearing double and the Rebels rip this game apart!!! Rebs lead 9-6!!

Power gets an RBI double and Rebels now lead 10-6!!
