From his Atlanta Alumni meeting last night:

Jerrell Powe is on track to complete the required academic work with only 10 days of school left. Will apply for him to be eligible to compete with the rest of the team. Has dropped his weight from 381 when Nutt arrived down to a current weight of 343 pounds.

Sounds great. I really do hope to see him on OUR field one day wearing the red and blue.

Don't look for Chris Strong to be on the team this fall. Seems the young man ain't doing his school work.

Disappointed, but not surprised.

Some other nuggets from the Atlanta Alumni meeting:

1. Jevan Snead is looking good.
2. The "Wild Rebel" offensive formation will feature Dexter McCluster. He'll get a direct snap and then can run, handoff or pass.
3. Kickoff defense will be a problem. They're going to move some better players to the kickoff defense team.
4. Nutt will call the plays to start but Austin may take over at some point.
5. Our players have a defeatist attitude. Coach Nutt said several times that he must change the general atmosphere of the program.
6. Several other things that I can't remember.

It's not a 100% given he'll be ineligible, just a very, very, very, very good chance he won't make it. Nutt even said so in his speech to the Atlanta Alumni meeting.
