Since its probably official for the Cotton Bowl, does anyone have good suggestions of places to stay that are convenient to the Cotton Bowl ??? I thought I heard about a transit system that went from some hotels right to the stadium. Any information about this ???? Thanks!!!!!!!! :D

Well, what I would suggest is staying close, even if it is a little more expensive. The reason for this is because it was very convenient to get a cab to the stadium in '04, instead of having to drive and find a parking place.

Last time, we stayed at the Windham, and it was pretty nice. I think we are staying at the Hilton this time, because it is close too.

Hope this helps.

Depends on what you are looking for, if you are wanting to party it is probably better to stay closer to downtown. If you are looking for a nice quite stay with easy access to the game I would suggest staying North of Dallas up 75.

I you are renting a Car or have your own, anywhere on 75 (all the way to Mckinney) would be accessible to the DART rail. The best hotel, in my opinion, would be the Renaissance in Richardson. It is located right off 75 at the Galatyn Park exit with the DART station right in front of the hotel.

Here is their website:

Even if you want to get out a little bit, there are many great bars in downtown Plano and you are not that far from Lower Greenville.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to help as much as I can.

Several of us are staying at the Hilton Park Cities. Close to downtown and the stadium and close enough to shopping and amusement for the little and big kids.

Dallas has a good rail system but it does not go to the Cotton Bowl. You could make the transfer to a bus at Union Station but I have no idea what all that entails.

Try http://www.dart.org/ for details on public transportation and the rail system. You can even catch the train to FW for a day trip.
You've just got to learn from the wrong things you've done. I came off the rebound, started looking around, figured out it's time to have a little fun.

Unless something has changed over the last few days, DART will have a dedicated bus that will pick you up at the Pearl St. station and take you to the Cotton Bowl.

It will also bring you back after the game, the only thing you have to be careful with is it stops running 1 hour after the game has ended. I had no problems in '04 using the same route.

I don't think he is going to make it. Maybe we should call him out as was done last week.

What are your plans? Day trip? You know you are more than welcome and invited to anything we do.

I am thinking day trip. I will e-mail you and call you when I get all matters concerning the newest and youngest member of the clan settled (i.e. who is going to stay with the wife and help her with the baby). Billy will be with his mom in Jackson, so it will just be me.

I will let you know.

I'll be there, and would love to meet some veteran rebels. Please let me know where you guys plan on staying.
