Below the dotted line is a projected schedule. How wild is it to think we might just possibly go 12-0 (Bama is at home and they will be without Wilson and USC will be a tough away game)? I really like our schedule, but I guess we will know more after we see how things develop in the spring. Still, we should be picking up TN at the right time on our schedule, LSU will possibly still be looking for a quarterback, Auburn will hopefully still be in chaos, Arkansas will be relying on a new quarterback, USC and Vandy will not have the good fortune of catching us inexperienced and without our self-confidence as they did last year. What do you think?

We go 9-3 with an embarassing loss to start the season b/c we are out of sync. You are right though, easy, easy schedule. I hope we come out swinging early and set the tone on the season in the first 4 games. If we get momentum, we'll likely lose only 2. I would lose my d*** mind to end up with 1 or 2 loses and a shot at a BCS bowl....RichmondVAReb wrote: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, looking at the schedule, the only respect building game we have is Bama. The rest are going to be in the "shoulda won" category. As weak as UT, Aub, LSU (who COULD be tough), State and Ark are, it'll be hard to make a case for our supremacy unless SC, Ark, Aub and UT win out after we beat them.
L. S. WHO?
haha. has you seen Nutts non-conference record? he lost 3 in 10 years, twice to southern cal and once to Texas. He won't lose to Memphis. Arkansas is breaking in a new QB as well as bama so they should be games you can win. 9-3 is very possible though, maybe betteroxpatchreb wrote:We go 9-3 with an embarassing loss to start the season b/c we are out of sync. We will win the SEC West next year bc we have something no one else in the conference has. A quarterback who can play. Now I dont think we will only lose one game, but I think we could be a top 10 team this year. We have the talent to compete and the QB to push us over the top. I really believe this is our year.

If this is the schedule, then there isn't a game on there, based on what we have returning and what other teams are losing, that we can't win. Not saying we will win them all but it is possible. won't put a number out yet b/c so much can happen over the next 9 months.
BTW, NO WAY we are out of synch to the point that we trip up to Memphis to start the season. Even the O's teams (which defined out of synch) found ways to win that game against slightly better Memphis teams (better than what Memphis will more than likely field next year).

but they have some fairly good quarterbacks returning, and look at the below article (midway down in the article) about several former SEC players being on their team. They may be a more formidable team than this year especially compared to last year when they had a starting quarterback fresh out of jr. college. Anyway, I thought it was interesting that they averaged just 25,000 fans this year per game (and that included a lot of promotional tickets and freebies given out) and are ACTUALLY LOSING $2 Million per year just on their football program. Do you think they are going to miss us on their schedule after this coming fall? Haha---serves them right for their attitude towards Ole Miss. But, this was an interesting article on their football program.

I heard this rumor, but unless something has change it's not going to happen. TCU signed a home and home with UVA in early November.RichmondVAReb wrote: Ole Miss SMU (not TCU by rumor) Oct. 3
I believe they travel to Charlottesville in 09 (September I think), and UVA comes to Ft. Worth in 2012.

You know I say easily we go 10-2 but I don't think it's going to be that easy for us to win the west just because we have a good QB. The best teams in the west should be Bama and us but if we don't beat Bama, I don't think we win the west. The plus side is at least we have them at home this year. I just know Bama is loaded with a talented team and they are going to be right back to a National Championship contender next year.BigTrev34 wrote:We will win the SEC West next year bc we have something no one else in the conference has. “Winning is not a sometime thing, it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while, and you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”

Looks like Ole Miss may be a top 10 team (or close to it) next year. Look at this link: http://www.nationalchamps.net/2009/earlybird/index.htm

Memphis has done a good job of bringing in some guys who couldn't cut it at the SEC level for whatever reason (Odom is a good player-legal issues, not depth charts, drove him from LSU, I believe), but they also lose a lot of guys from their 2-deep this year, including a lot off the O-Line (3 starters and 2 others from the 2-deep from a group that wasn't great even by CUSA standards this year) and 2 of their top recievers (Singleton and Black) who were 3 year starters. They also lose nearly half of their defensive 2-deep, including 4 of the top 8 DL and 2 starting CBs. they have a much better shot at being out of synch at the beginning of next season than we do, is all I am saying.RichmondVAReb wrote:but they have some fairly good quarterbacks returning, and look at the below article (midway down in the article) about several former SEC players being on their team. as for their program problems, they have a hard time convincing the casual fan to go into one of the worst parts of the city to watch a program that has historically struggled to get above .500. even weith the moderate success they have had since West got there, it has been tough. The OM game next year will probably be their biggest draw of the year, and that will be b/c OM fans that live in Memphis metro area will go to watch.

I see 10 wins in this schedule with only Bama and LSU in question in my view (because I know LSU has talent if they trip upon a QB).
I am serious about the 10.
