I was shopping for the wife today and ran into a young man wearing a Florida baseball Cap shopping with an older gentleman. I asked the young man, (probably late 20's) if he was a big Florida Fan. He answered, "Absolutely, we are National Champs!!". I said to him, "I have an Ole Miss Jacket in the car you can wear". He said, "Ole Miss whipped us, but they really helped us go the rest of the way undefeated and becoming the champs."
His Dad then piped up and said to me in a friendly tone, "Sir, I am a Texas Tech Graduate and we don't really love Ole Miss at my house!"
We all laughed and it was a nice conversation, but it sure is GREAT being an Ole Miss Rebel, Anywhere!!!

You should have asked the dad if he loves us less than Oklahoma.

I got so excited that this was a new announcement that Florida and Texas tech would meet for an extra season game.

Dreams crushed.

nonetheless, the story is a fun one.
I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance.

I swear when I first started reading this thread I read it as this...

"I was shopping FOR a wife..."

Now that is funny.

Hagar, I have had my wife for 40 years this July. Too late for shopping, well maybe some window shopping, you know, look a lot but keep what you got. BTW, she is a Mississippi lady and went to Tulane, so we both Hate LSU. I think that is why we are still together.

Nice story. During the Texas Tech - Ole Miss game, I was in Lexington, KY shopping after Christmas. Now, I must note, and I'm sure you guys know this, but Lexington is the home of the University of Kentucky.

Anyways, I was all decked out in Florida gear. I went with my cousin, and we set a deadline to meet at "That other QB from Arkansas"'s Sporting Goods about 4 to go out to the car.

I arrived at "That other QB from Arkansas"'s about 30 minutes early to catch a glimpse of the Cotton Bowl. I watched with my arms crossed and noticed a Tennessee fan standing close beside me. It was close to halftime, about 10 seconds left, when Graham Harrell broke off that big run.

I looked over at him and he said "Man, that was close" to which I replied: "Yeah, I'm a Florida fan, and I know they beat us, but you got to support the SEC"
