Mercer lost to USA on Friday night by a 9-2 count. Mercer prevented being shutout when Casey Stuart went yard in the ninth inning. USA scored early and often in the contest with a 4 run 2nd inning and never looked back.

The Bears have 6 veteran players on defense including sophomore Joe Winker, an All-Atlantic Sun pre-season selection.

The Bears will send Dan April to the hill to face the Rebel offense. April would be considered the staff ace.
