Ole Miss vs. SC - Game 1

Pom's not fooling anyone tonight. 5 runs (all unearned) in the 1st and 3 more in the 2nd for the Gamecocks. 7 hits for SC. Drew is dying on the hill and he is pulled. McKean inherits a true mess with runners at 1st and 2nd, 2 out.

Rebels scored 2 in the bottom of the first, but it doesn't help when you give that many and more back in the next half. SC is wearing out the lines and it seams like every single thing they put the bat on goes into the corner.

McKean gives up a hit to allow SC to score yet another run. But a fly out ends it as SC bats around in the 2nd.

With 2 outs an error put Henry at first then Power stepped up and went yard with a 2 run shot. Come on Rebels!

McKean does something no pitcher has been able to do in this game and that's keep the other team from scoring in a frame.

Rebels have to keep chipping into this lead.

So let me get this straight...South Carolina loses 2 of 3 to MState, loses 2 0f 3 at home to Arkansas but comes to Oxford on a Friday night and plates 10 dern runs in 5 five innings and is completely owning us. All of this while Vandy is beating Arkansas 7-0. A chance for us to gain a game on the SEC West leader and what do we do?

Wow. Just wow.

Oh no, you got it all wrong. They didn't get 10 runs. They have 11 now. Another run for the GCs in the 6th.

What the heck is going on? I hate having to win the last two games. To much pressure. How in the world did they hit Pom like that? He has been so solid.

HUGE 2 run homer by Button!! Then Henry gets a double and steals 3rd. A sac line out to the outfield scores Henry. New pitcher time for SC...

It does not help that all 5 of SC's runs in the 1st were unearned...

Pom just couldn't seem to find an out and the home plate ump has some "issues". Also "lucky" hits right on the line, an error, and well...

What the heck happened in the 1st two innings.

Pom pitches 1.2 innings gives up 9 runs but only 4 are earned. Looks like he only walked 1, did the other eight not show up either!
