The quote below the dotted line is from the Ole Miss Sports site and gives you the record as of just prior to our game with them last fall, which we lost of course. Folks, history doesn't mean much in football, but we have a winning record at home and away with South Carolina with identical records (after last fall's loss at home) of 4-3 in each locality. So, historically speaking at least we have played very well in South Carolina when we have visited there. In fact, we have won our last two times in Columbia (36-10 in 1999 and 31-28 in 2004). Add to that the fact that we have a team on a mission I believe that played very well on the road last year, and I'd say that we have a very good chance to win that game in Columbia and continue our win streak there. So, don't count that one as a loss yet by any means----that's why they play the game.

I was very worried about that one initially. But as we get closer to kickoff I become more concerned with Vandy.

Short of the team not showing up mentally, or really poor coaching decisions, we will not have any problem with either SC or Vandy. I blame both losses last year on a mixture of the 2. We had 6 turnovers against Vandy, which was part fault Jevan, but also coaching. There was no need to throw the ball that much, the coaches should have scouted Vandy better. Against SC, Tracy Rocker (D-line coach) took the blame saying that he tried to incorporate some new complicated packages for that game. Obviously it was a mistake since SC ranked 111th in sacks allowed and we ranked 4th in sacking and only managed 3 sacks (both teams' average). We should have sacked Smelley 5-8 times. He torched us, but did nothing before or after our game. He even transferred after last year.

If you wish to fret about a road game, worry about Auburn. However, I don't think they have enough talent to actually win against us.

Worry about the home games against Bama, LSU, and Arkansas, the rest should be fine.
