To beat nationally ranked Ole Miss this weekend, Memphis knows it can’t let Largo grad Dexter McCluster go off.
Like he did last year.
In a 41-24 Rebels win in '08, the standout WR rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on six carries and caught four passes for 61 yards.
"We didn't tackle him very well last year," Memphis coach Tommy West told reporters at his Monday luncheon. "Nobody in the SEC tackled him very well either."
Now for the cool part: According to the Clarion-Ledger, “West was so impressed that during the off-season, one of his goals for his recruiting staff was this: Find a McCluster clone.”
If you can't beat 'em, recruit 'em, right?
By the way, McCluster made ESPN.com's list of the SEC's biggest home-run threats. You can check that out HERE.

Sweet. McCluster is just a great guy. Deserves all the accolades coming his way.

What an understated article...I should hope that McCluster "worries" Memphis. He has more speed and agility than anyone to ever come through their consistently mediocre program.
