I know everyone has been preoccupied with the mascot story, however, we have our biggest game of the year coming up this week and the board seems quiet. This game will give us either a 2-1 SEC record or a 1-2 SEC record. Would be big in the standings with Auburn playing Arkansas. Arkansas wins we beat Arkansas it could be very interesting.

What are everyone's thoughts on what we need to do offensively/defensively to win the game?

If we win, where does this game rank in all time great victories for Ole Miss? Or is it not as much since they lost to South Carolina last week?

The line has lowered a little in vegas which is always good, but never tells alot. Predictions for this game are nearly impossible. I know we all want to see a "W", but what needs to be in the cards to make this happen?

Offensively we need our running backs to run and our quarterback to throw downfield (preferably from the pocket ala Garcia)...Saban proved against Tebow that he knows how to minimize an offense with a running QB, but his secondary is young and Garcia and the ole ball coach exposed that.

Defense needs to stuff (or at least slow down) the run and try to force McElroy to beat us.

And of course, even though as a policy I do not do it for football games, there is always prayer for divine intervention.

Sure, the Rebels have become associated with mediocrity as of late.....

But "Da Bears" are undefeated!!!!

It would be awesome to start this "new era" with a W over the Tahd. I doubt it happens--too many things must go right for us and wrong for them--but how sweet would it be...

Agree with saban minimizing masoli's running room. The kid has a decent arm let him come out no huddle with guns blazing first series.

If we beat alabama it would no doubt go down as one of the biggest wins in ole miss history, even bigger then the win against florida in 08. We haven't beaten alabama in tuscaloosa since 1988. We have only won 9 times in the history of the series against them. We lead the series against florida and we had already won in gainsville in 2003 so weve been there done that. Its a complete longshot to get the victory tomorrow, though. We would have to have so many things go right for us including the ball bouncing our way. If bama comes out so desperate to get back on track that they play bad and turn the ball over to give us the short field and our offense turns those into touchdowns, we may have a chance. As bama has shown though, we MUST take a fairly large lead and hold on for dear lives to beat this team. As bama has shown, there really is no hope if we get down and have to play catch up because all they have to do is pound the ball to take time off the clock. It really is a long shot but isn't that whats great about college football? The unknown?

That is enough of the "Da Bears" please....we are not "Da Bears"..at least for now we are still The Rebels! The team we are playing is Da Bear's!

I think that if we see Stanley and Masoli in the same backfield some magic may happen....if it is snap the ball...count to one and leave the pocket then I think we punt a lot or have a pick six or two....you can throw successfully against Bama's young db's though.

I know we aren't to optimistic about this game, but if we win are we a top 25 team?

I really think we have a chance. We continue to improve as Masoli gets the offense down and our defense may show up with all the talent we have.

IF...and I do mean IF...we play four quarters of football for the first time this year, we have a shot at winning this one.

If not...

What happened to "moving on" that I hear basically everyone saying we should do? Either we can be bitter, or we can each deal with the fact our new mascot is a dancing teddy bear in a Ole Miss jersey in our own way. Personally I tried drinking & drugs first... But now "Da Bears" is the only phrase that helps me keep my sanity.

No! Not a miserable existence! I never said I converted to MSU.... That's the definition of a miserable existence!
