The only one that is questionable to me is the Damien Jackson behind Sawyer, but they are planning to use Damien at that Spur position as much as FS, at least early in the season, so that is likely why he is penciled in as backup. Also, Jackson's injury may have slowed him down a bit last week, allowing him to be passed a bit. Oh, and the Crawford over Mathews, but again, they have toyed with Mathews playing down as well, so it might just be that. Guess we will see on Saturday how this plays out.
Maybe the Davis over Scott as back-up to Bolden is a bit perplexing, but I am not bent out of shape over it. Probably should have put the "or" there with those two, since the down/distance/situation will dictate which guy goes in to spell Brandon. As for the WR positions, in 3 WR+ sets, I fully expect to see Brassell, Singleton, and/or Sanders before I see Herman and/or Moore.

I am not as big a fan of the 4-2-5 as you. Brings back memories of Driesbach's defenses. Give up 44 to Memphis in a loss. Give up 49 to Texas Tech in a loss. But then hold LSU to 17. it isn't that puzzling to see Jackson back at safety. He said last week that he prefers safety although he added the PC "I'll play wherever I can help the team." What is puzzling is if Jackson is a safety, why is crawford starting ahead of both him and matthews? Of course, in today's college game "starter" does not necessarily mean "gets most playing time", so it is often confusing to compare what's on paper to what you see on the field.
Just watched a clip on Nutt's practice comments today and he mentioned at the end that Brunetti is "in tune" and something along the lines of 'the job was his anyways' when asked about Brunetti's play in practice after being named starter. It kind of makes me feel a little better about the QB situation at least thinking he was a step or two ahead of Mackey anyway and losing him isn't that much of a letdown.
