What is everyone opinion on Mark Hudspeth. He was successful at UNA in the semi or quarter finales of the D2 championship almost every year. Then good enough that Mullen hired him away to go to MSU and now coaching a 8-2 La Lafayette team. He is from MS played at Delta State and must be a pretty good judge of talent.
Just curious about everyone's opinion.

Like! I like guys that don't settle on being someone's assistant for 5-10 years. I think someone who wants to be head coach will find and take jobs just au they can be one. I admire that and when they are successful I think they should get a serious look.

Matt Wyatt is really big on him. Wants State to hire him when Mullet monster leaves, I dont know anything about him but I think we should be interested in a lower conf guy who has flipped programs so it fits that bill...

I'm leaving it in the upper guys hands that are chosen to pick the right coach. I am still thinking they go with no one that is on our list...mpzreb17 wrote:I'm ignorant. If I haven't heard of him, he sucks.
I have a crazy gut feeling whoever we hire it's going to be our next Vaught. Call me crazy, or call me out in 3 years next coaching change.

You're probably right. I'm also sure Hudspeth would be a good HC wherever he winds up.carl winslow wrote:I'm leaving it in the upper guys hands that are chosen to pick the right coach. That said, I still think Archie somehow picks a coach we keep.

I live in Austin and I've never heard of him 8)pilotreb wrote:I live in Lafayette and the guy is impressive
I like what I've read regarding Hudspeth. I think he is young and hungry. Sounds like he has some pretty good recruiting ties to Florida and now I assume south Louisiana. I could be happy with the hire. Go Rebs.

And he did play at Delta St. and is from Louisville, so he knows MS and that might be a positive from a recruiting standpoint of MS players. Of course the best recruiting tool is winning and playing on ESPN not ESPNU or CSS.

Does that mean he might hang out with AK? 8OTNRebel wrote:And he is from Louisville, .
That might not be a good thing
