Thought I would start a thread, for those that cared, regarding staff anouncements and discussion.
Numerous reports (SpiritChuck has confirmed) that Frank Wilson has been offered at position on the staff, possibly OC.
At this point he has not accepted, I think this would be an outstanding addition, if Wilson joins Freeze will be off on the right foot.

I will admit to this though: Freeze runs a no huddle spread offense that should be a nice change of pace from Nutt being an absolute moron and holding signs up that said "Jeff scott to the 4-hole", and "Bradley Sowell fling your arms out wide and pretend to block someone while jeff scott gets tackled for an 8 yard loss"
Currently the RB Coach/Recruiting coordinator for LSUX. Had a swim through Ole Miss between 05-07, excellent eye for talent especially at RB (think BJGE).jrebel87 wrote:Who is Frank Wilson?
It is thought that between 05-07, 90% of what went right (especially in recruiting) was due to Freeze's and Wilsons efforts, not a fact just an opinion.
However, from what I can gather Wilson is on a few list for HC openings (Memphis and Tulane to name two), and it is believed that he will probably hold out to see if there is any fire there. I don't believe Freeze will wait that long for an answer.

If thats the case then I would support that hire. I really hope Freeze comes to Oxford ASAP and starts leading this team. We cannot afford for him to coach ASU in their bowl game. I want to see who he plans on bringing in on defense, although if I had to bet money on it, it will be his current defensive coordinator.

Add to this: He had been the Orleans Parish Public School Athletic Director of sorts for a few years. He knows EVERYBODY in south Louisiana. He IS the reason that we got BJGE to transfer to OM and others who were in the New Orleans system. He is a pipeline to good players in the state of LA.

It is rumored he was offered OC which I find interesting. Freeze has been his own OC everytime he as been a HC. Would think this is more for recruiting purposes since Wilson is supposed to be an awesome recruiter.rewalters wrote:Currently the RB Coach/Recruiting coordinator for LSUX. I like this too. He has the major D1 experience that everyone seems to be so enamored with but the big thing with me is a lot of the reason ASU had such a good season is the way he turned the deffense around. Supposedly he makes adjustments on the fly real well and good Lord knows we need that in Oxford after the last DC.bleuwolfe wrote:Dave Wommack as DC according to twitter

well if Wilson accepts (big if) then hope he can do the job better than our last couple. Freeze needs a competent OC regardless of the schemerebeldevotee wrote:It is rumored he was offered OC which I find interesting. Freeze has been his own OC everytime he as been a HC.
