I was wanting a "big name" to lead Ole Miss. What we got was what I wanted after thinking about it.
I wanted a winner, but more important, I wanted somebody that loved Ole Miss as much as most of us love Ole Miss. Wise people always tell people for true success and happiness, you should find what you love and then get paid to do it.
Hugh Freeze loves Ole Miss. That well published text he sent to Archie says just that. He is willing to take charge of a program with enormous problems because there is love for Ole Miss entwined with ability to solve a lot of the problems. Freeze has proven he can find the problems and fix them in quick order at two different colleges. He believes he can do this in Oxford and I think he just might. He at least gives fans hope that he indeed can help fix the problems. It just feels like he is not doing this for the money alone, but because of his love for Ole Miss. If that love is real, that is a strength and a condition that he won't have to learn. Nutt always was going to love the Razorhogs and ran Ole Miss like an emotional vendetta of revenge against Arky instead of leading and growing the Ole Miss program for the benefit of Ole Miss. Nutt was in it for himself, not for Ole Miss. I feel Freeze knows if Ole Miss grows and becomes great again under his leadership, he will also grow and receive the awards that are possible.
I am behind Freeze until he proves me wrong about his Love for Ole Miss. Great luck to Hugh and all of Rebel Nation.
BTW G T H LSU. and State Sux.

as a big Tennessee fan who pushed Oher to go to Tennessee until we hired him, I don't think Freeze loves Ole Miss as much as I do, but I do like the guy, just not the hire at this time. He may turn out to be great, but with his lack of experience there is no way to know how he'll turn out. It is an overly risky hire.Jimbo wrote:I I wanted somebody that loved Ole Miss as much as most of us love Ole Miss....
