Moos says candidly that some hires left him scratching his head.
"There's the Charlie Weis deal," he says of Kansas' hire. "He failed miserably at Notre Dame, but, 'By God, he was at Notre Dame.' Down at Ole Miss, they have to have 15 people on a search committee (actually it was five). By the time they get through the introductions on the search committee, all the good coaches are hired.
"I don't need 15 people sitting at the table. Where are the other 14 when I get evaluated on (the performance of) my football coach?"
No freaking kidding...I'm still surprised that Archie Manning let himself be part of that "committee".
Hm.

Moos is entitled to his opinion. Of course, what he said should be taken with a grain of salt - adding ten people to the committee makes it sound worse. In a perfect world we would have had an AD at the time.
I'm not a bit surprised that Archie Manning was a part of the committee. I'm grateful that he gave us his time. All things considered, I'm content with the way things turned out.

I am. It was just a smokescreen for picking Coach Choirboy.downtown wrote: I'm not a bit surprised that Archie Manning was a part of the committee. I'm grateful that he gave us his time. All things considered, I'm content with the way things turned out.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. But at least make your presence and true loyalties known here before you start making accusations right out of the starting blocks. I was as vocal as any on this board about my opinion on the hire and the process. But the folks here know me and where my loyalties are. And Hugh Freeze is my school's Head Football Coach now and he has my support and I like some of the things I have seen. You need to identify yourself and your loyalties before you start flaming with guns a blazing in your initial posts here.abcdefg wrote:I am. HOTTY TODDY!
I agree with Rebchuck18. I have yet to see you say anything positive about Ole Miss. All of your 3 posts reference "Coach Choirboy." We get it. You don't like Coach Freeze. You need to identify yourself and your loyalties before you start flaming with guns a blazing in your initial posts here.
How long have you been an Ole Miss fan?

No, it's a board where you are expected to bring something more to the table than snide remarks that have no substance.abcdefg wrote:Is this one of those koolade boards where only "positive Ole Miss" is welcome? It sure looks that way.

Once again, its perfectly OK to have a difference of opinion, and if you take the time to read other's posts you will see that not all of us are always on the same page. But unless you get really derogatory in you posts, the mods here probably wont ban you, but don't be suprised if we do not respond....
Even a bad day as a Rebel is better than a good day with the dawgs!!!!
There sure are a lot of rules for posting here. Think that maybe you guys take yourselves a bit too seriously? Maybe that's the reason the membership is so small.beachbumreb wrote:No, it's a board where you are expected to bring something more to the table than snide remarks that have no substance.abcdefg wrote:Is this one of those koolade boards where only "positive Ole Miss" is welcome? Is it a common practice here for moderators to ban fellow Ole Miss fans? What the hell..1OLEMISSREBEL wrote:beachbumreb wrote:No, it's a board where you are expected to bring something more to the table than snide remarks that have no substance.abcdefg wrote:Is this one of those koolade boards where only "positive Ole Miss" is welcome? Most definitely not!!! LoL and if you think that, you haven't read any of the posts. Just let everyone know where your true intentions are. People don't want this board to be filled with some of the crap and garbage that you find elsewhere. Trying to protect the board and it's integrity, that's all. If you are a true "RebelFaithful" you shouldn't get defensive about this.

No certainly not....however we do expect the members of this board to back up their opinions with facts that substantiate their opinions... if you got a good opinion you can explain why you feel like you do... if you can't it just proves to me that your probably a MSU alumni...I can make that determination because I know an ordinary MSU Fan can build an opinion around a fact... an MSU alumni probably cannot. If you can demonstrate you have a valid opinion your welcome here...if you can't... well lets just say... we know how to rid the earth of your shadow. Is it a common practice here for moderators to ban fellow Ole Miss fans? I haven't seen people referencing a lot of rules for posting here. And it isn't that this is a "kool aid" board. It is just kind of telling when you only say negative things. There sure are a lot of rules for posting here. Think that maybe you guys take yourselves a bit too seriously? Maybe that's the reason the membership is so small.
