That's a metaphor for our entire season. Is metaphor the right word there? I don't know, I'm having one of those days where I fell like I can't do anything right.

One things for certain, we are a "bubble" team. What is going to determine whether we are in or not will be who ends up winning all of the other conference tournaments. We don't want any upsets. The sec tournament outcome won't hurt us because all of the remaining teams are ranked higher then us. What we don't want is a east carolina or a tulane to sneak in and win the cusa tournament ect. If we do get in we will be placed in a ridiculously hard regional. I just hope we stay away from Baton Rouge and Virginia, I'm sick of getting eliminated by Virginia.

No, we are not a bubble team. Here are the latest RPI's along with SOS's. There will be eight SEC bids as follows:

3--Florida--SOS--1

7--LSU--SOS--15

9--South Carolina--SOS--22

14--Kentucky--SOS--42

17--Arkansas--SOS--19

20--State--SOS--9

21--Vandy--SOS--3

23--Ole Miss--SOS--7

---------------------------------

No way Ole Miss will not be a 2-seed with that RPI and SOS.

Not this time. Announcers on tonight's Florida-South Carolina confirmed that the SEC is expected to get eight bids. We will go to the tournament, but I won't get into other issues. We've all rehashed it enough lately.

We're in for sure, but what are you saying about SOS and RPI? That we will be a 2 seed for sure or we'll be a 3? Also, where do you think the NCAA is gonna send us? They have *beep* us good in the past (Texas and Miami to Oxford Super Regional, UVA in 2009).

Obviously, I'm not on the committee. But in general the teams with RPI's from 1 to 16 will be in line for hosting spots and 1-seeds. The teams with RPI's from 17 to 32 will get strong consideration for 2-seeds. It's possible that a 1-seed could go to a team not in the 1-16 range, but that team won't be far beyond that range.

For a team in the 17 to 32 range not to get a 2-seed, there would have to be something very negative in their resume that would drop them to a 3-seed. Current Ole Miss RPI is 24 today. In Ole Miss's case, even though the team did not finish strong, the late season losses were to teams like LSU, Kentucky and Vandy, all of which have Top Twenty RPI's. In addition, Ole Miss has a 7 SOS. The NCAA wants teams to play tough schedules, and whatever else I think about the way OM was coached this year, they did play a tough schedule.

I just don't see Ole Miss being on the 2-seed bubble. As to where OM will be sent, the committee claims they like to make the regionals truly 'regional.' Closest should be Rice and Florida State.

^^agree^^

Think back to the sweep of a weak UT, if we lose 2 of those games our RPI would have taken a dip (especially with a midweek lose to ASU). We positioned ourselves for a good chance at postseason play with a great EARLY nonconference record. An average SEC record was all we needed but I feel that this team blew a hosting bid after the Florida series.

Re: where OM might play regionally. Rebels might also be sent packing to Texas A & M, especially since the Aggies will be in the SEC next year. Or they might send Arkansas there. Would start the rivalries early.
