You've got a good team and a classless coach. Up 4 td's and still throwing bombs and blocking punts. Way to kick a dead horse.

Well hell... their stable of backs is running it down our throats. They are probably tired if toting the rock bu now. We are awful... but yea we have a ton of heart and play with great effort... so there's that.
Right but they weren't running it. It's one thing to run the ball and we just can't stop them. It completely different to throw 5o yard passes and block punts.deltarebel26 wrote:Well hell... their stable of backs is running it down our throats. Guys,
Best of luck going forward, better days are ahead. I'm pulling for Ole Miss in the SEC as I always do.
As for the deep pass with 11 minutes left, I wish we wouldn't do that crap. It's been the culture / habit in our conference the past 10+ years. Mack was late to catch on, we had 4 other b12 programs that made that their calling card, but it's no excuse for us to do the same. We should be above that. I don't blame you for being chapped.
That said, I was glad to see us take a couple of knees in the end.
When you come to Austin I know your team will be much better and more experienced. Feel free to come over, and have a good time. If ya don't it's your own fault (as we like to say in Tx).
Best of luck guys, stick with your boys. Better days ahead.
Hook 'em.

I know it seems classless, but coach is trying to build up this QB and offense for a difficult run starting in two weeks. Ash needs the confidence. He's never had a good game throwing the ball in his college career. The punt block was a bit sketchy, but we're trying to break into the top ten. Style points, etc...
Hope y'all can forgive. One of those things.

Great game for UT fans, not so great for us. I dont mind the deep pass or trying to block the punt. Dont like it cause we were on the recieving end of it, but you gotta practice it and we gotta stop ya. You guys came prepared, and taught us some valuable lessons. Good luck on the rest of the season and see yall next year in Austin.

Texas had a lot to do with the appearance of 'no D.' Games with Tulane, A & M, Auburn, Arkansas, Vandy and State will determine the state of our D. I think the fact that OM scored 31 points against their D is an indication that we are on the way back. I wanted to see OM compete for sixty minutes, and I saw that. Otherwise, it was a case of Texas in its fifteenth year under Mack Brown versus OM in its first year under Freeze. That's not an excuse. It's a fact.BobReb wrote:If we had a defense we wouldn't be having this conversation...
We're going from no D to no O to know D again.
TXhorn, thanks for the words, you have a really good team on your hands, get by OU and you have a shot at something special.
As far as runninng up the score, IMO there is no such thing! It's a game that is played for 60 minutes, your job is to score, my job is to stop you.
When you lift off the throttle you insult me and belittle me, bring it on show me the respect by giving me the chance to rise up. It's up to me to meet the challenge, I might not stop you, but by God you will know I was in the way!

It was more than an "appearance " of no D and it wasn't just because Texas is some invincible Juggernaut. Against two Mountain West teams at home Texas averaged 213 yards rushing, 220 yards passing and 41 points. Against our SEC team on the road they had 350 yards rushing, 326 yards passing and scored 66 points. Let's not delude ourselves into believing that it was just the prowess of mighty Texas.

Beating the first two opponents was not only expected, it garnered Texas nothing in the way of style points. I'm willing to bet Mack Brown substituted in those games way more than he did against OM. Texas will get style points and a significant bump in the polls for beating OM the way it did on the road in an SEC venue. And, yes, Texas in fifteen years under Mack Brown is going to be a juggernaut when facing a team coming off the lowest ebb in OM football history. To say that Freeze and staff can't get the job done because of that fact is unjustifiably pessimistic and premature.Rebchuck18 wrote:It was more than an "appearance " of no D and it wasn't just because Texas is some invincible Juggernaut. Personally I would've rather you put 80 on us. Our team will hopefully focus on this game to build on, as playing yall early gives Freeze a lot of tape to work with for preparing for conference play. If we wind up going bowling, the thank you cards will go to Austin.
