going on at RCR right now and I think this board should join in the discussion because this is something that we are going to have to deal with very soon. Here is the linkhttp://www.redcuprebellion.com/2014/7/21/59225 ... azz-napier
For my part I am absolutely opposed to paying players because they are already getting paid.
There is a major debate on paying athletes

I believe they should get full cost of education...and a reasonable stipend...and EA Sports, etc. should be able to use the college name and number but not the players name. And once the big five conferences have autonomy, which won't be long, they will get most of that.

I believe they get $1k a month
football student-athletes at FBS schools do get a stipend and it varies by school. Schools must justify the amount based on room and board costs for the average student at their school. Schools that have a training table, basically an all-you-care-to-eat cafeteria line where athletes go for meals and pick out what they want (it lets the school better track what the atlhlete is eating and most, but not all, major schools go this route) give a smaller stipend because the athlete does not have to pay for food at the cafeteria.
