Rebels Will Seek Third Straight Win over Crimson Tide on Sept. 17
The highly anticipated September 17 showdown between Ole Miss and Alabama in Oxford has been picked up for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff as the CBS Game of the Week.
Both teams are expected to start the 2016 season near the top of the national rankings. The Rebels have defeated the Crimson Tide in back-to-back years for the first time in series history. Hugh Freeze's squad earned a 23-17 home win in 2014 before beating the Tide in Tuscaloosa last year by a 43-37 margin.
The 2014 victory was Ole Miss' first ever against the nation's No. 1-ranked team. Last year, Alabama was ranked No. 2 in the polls when the Rebels earned the road win.
Ole Miss made two appearances on CBS last season, including a 53-52 overtime loss to Arkansas and a 38-17 win over No. 15 LSU.
Ole Miss will open the 2016 season on Monday, September 5 at the Camping World Kickoff Game against Florida State in Orlando. Game time is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN. Other game times will be announced later.
